Assignment #3: Love Language

The results of this quiz said that I scored highest on quality time. The runners up were physical touch and acts of service. I think these results are pretty accurate. This quiz confirmed what I already knew about myself, if it is possible, quality time is very important in bonding with my loved ones. Physical touch lets me know I am thought of. Hugs and pats on the back can be the best thing in the world on a bad day. I agree that I appreciate acts of service which includes help with any tasks I am doing whether it's cooking, laundry, or even studying for a big exam. To show interest in helping me makes me feel loved and cared for. There wasn't anything new that the quiz turned up; however, I did find it interesting that I scored the lowest on receiving gifts and words of affirmation. I knew already I am not much of a gift person, but I thought I would have scored higher on words of affirmation. To hear and speak honest, kind words is something I treasure. Perhaps, I just prefer feeling appreciated rather than hearing I am. Anyways, I thought this quiz was interesting and kind of fun. I found that this quiz was very easy and fast. The harder part was trying to judge whether the results were right or not. By thinking about it afterwards, you learn a little bit about yourself!

Assignment #2: "Food Inc." Movie Review

The movie and the people making it did not say anything I disagreed with, for I support their effort in trying to educate Americans about food. However, the movie did expose many things that I disagree with. The thing I found most shocking was the part of the movie on the chicken farm. The farmer had the windows blacked out; the chickens never even see light during their entire life-span. I’m not sure why that bothered me so much. I’m not a vegetarian, but the way they treat these animals is not only unhealthy for us, but just plain cruel to the animals. I thought critically when it was mentioned how the ecoli spreads from one cow to another due to the cows standing in their own feces. It made me begin to question how healthy/clean the meat I eat actually is and where it’s from. If the animals raised for food are extremely unhealthy, that makes the meat we eat from those animals just as unhealthy. This movie definitely impacted me by helping me understand that even when you’re on a tight budget, it’s important to find a way to eat locally. That family in the movie who ate dollar menu food all the time had a very hard time feeding their children healthy food due to time and money.  This shouldn’t be the case; healthy food should be more available to all people. This movie will be impacting my health/behavior by pushing me to go check out my local farmer’s market. That way I will know where the food has came from and what conditions were present. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend because it’s very informative and can help motivate the viewer to create a healthier lifestyle for themselves and for others. I’d tell people that this movie is overall well-put-together and it gets the message across crystal clear. I guarantee that you will question your diet habits after watching this.

Assignment #1: An introduction...

Welcome to my blog! My name is Natalie Joseph. I am 19 years old and live in Murrieta. I have three sisters and two dogs. I have a boyfriend who's my best friend. We've been together for almost five years! My dad is a fireman and my mom was a pre-school teacher. I am going to Palomar college to transfer to Cal State San Bernardino, and attend their nursing program there. I have one more year at Palomar, then I will be on my way! I currently do not work, so all my focus is on school, which makes my life much easier and manageable! I hope you learned a little bit about me, and I look forward to learning something about you! :) Thanks for reading!

Test run...

Hello! This is my first post, and I just wanted to make sure everything was working correctly. It seems so :) Have a good day!
