Assignment #8: My Final Post

In the beginning, I was really frustrated with not knowing how to work blogger. But once I logged on a couple times, I began to get the hang of it. I think that my experience with blogger and using this as the place we do our homework has made me realize that no two classes are alike. Some professors are more creative than others, and like to do things in a more creative way. I think rather than saying "It's hard, I'm not familiar with this" and giving up, it's important to continue on; after all, eventually you will get the hang of it! I didn't expect to be using a blog for all my homework assignments, but I have found that it worked out really well over the semester. After becoming familiar with blogger, I simply just left myself signed into the website. That way I could quickly begin my homework whenever I wanted. I found it easier to deal with than regular homework. Not only is it faster to type than to write, but with blogger, once you post it, you're done. I enjoyed the ability to do my homework blogs early and post them on my own time/schedule. I also liked tracking our own blogs and comments. I felt very organized and caught up by keeping up with and filling out the blog activity grading sheet. Overall, I really enjoyed using blogger to post homework. I think that it is a very creative way of encouraging students to do their homework. I don't think I will be using blogger after this class, or not right now anyways. Who knows though, I just might change my mind.

  1. Natalie,
I'm glad you didn't give up! I know this is a new tool to many of you, and I'm sure it was very frustrating, but I do hope it was a valuable learning experience! You may not use a Blog any time soon, but the awesome thing is that if you ever think "hhhmmmm maybe I should start a blog?" You will know how!! :)

  3. Hi Natalie, I to got frustrated with the site and just was like I can not do this. Along with Prof: Falcone's help and shear determination I was not going to give up. I enjoyed this experience the great thing for me was getting to read other peoples blogs. I was able to gain a different perspective and ideas on a variety of topics which was such a great experience for me. I had never heard of blogger before taking this class. I am glad I now know the site is out thier. In the future know that I have an account already set up I can publish a post on an issue I need other people's input on, such a good thing.

  4. Hi Natalie, I agree that filling out the sheet made me keep myself on track and gave me a sense of accomplishment...kind of like checking things off my list. That's always a great feeling! :) I also worked at my own pace, and got my posts done ahead of time. I just wish sometimes that we were all a little ahead because I found it hard sometimes to find posts to comment on because not everyone was keeping up. Overall a great experience :) Good luck with your college career!

  5. It's not easy trying something new, especially when you need it for something important. But at least it helps with homework online instead of doing it in class. Blogger was very hard for me too, but in some ways, it is just the same as using my email. See ya and good luck!

  6. I agree with you, blogging was a very creative way of doing our homework and I love it when teachers can change things up and make assignments creative because it keeps me intrigued in learning and wanting to learn how to do things differently.

  7. The flexibility of deadlines helped tremendously! It was sort of like taking a mini-online class, but actually learning the material through lectures rather than just doing what is needed to get by with an A like I usually do with my online classes.

  8. I also had a hard time with it and did not want to do it because i was getting lost and can not find my group to follow them. But it takes time to understand and get it to do homework.
